What is BERS PPS
Permissible Purpose Standard

The BERS Permissible Purpose Standard is the access framework that governs institutional eligibility for all BERS products. Eligibility is based on the legal and operational basis under which the institution intends to use behavioral scoring — not on size, sector, or commercial relationship. FCRA permissible purpose, contractual need-to-know, and regulatory authorization are the standard bases for approval.

What happens after approval
Authorization Code

Approved institutions receive an authorization code delivered by secure channel to the contact named in the inquiry. The authorization code activates API access for the approved product or products and is bound to the permissible purpose certified in the application. The clearing account maintains authorization records and conducts periodic permissible purpose review.
