What It Does

Behavioral loss prediction for habitational property insurance.

BLES generates a per-peril behavioral score for habitational insurance underwriting — the layer of loss prediction that sits between COPE data and claims history. The Brain evaluates behavioral signals across occupancy patterns, property maintenance behavior, lifestyle risk indicators, and financial stability — dimensions that construction quality and location cannot capture. BLES delivers a structured per-peril score at underwriting and is refreshed at renewal, giving carriers behavioral intelligence at the two moments that determine profitability.

Who Uses It

Habitational carriers. Specialty lines underwriters. MGA platforms.

Property and casualty carriers underwriting homeowner and renter policies who need the behavioral layer missing from COPE. Specialty lines underwriters in high-value habitational who need to distinguish similar structures by the behavior of the people inside them. MGA platforms building behavior-informed underwriting models for habitational books. Any carrier that has learned that two structurally identical homes in the same ZIP code can carry profoundly different behavioral risk profiles.

Capabilities
01
Per-Peril Loss Prediction

Behavioral prediction scores segmented by peril — fire, water, liability, theft. Each sub-score reflects behavioral signals predictive of that peril specifically, not a composite proxy. Delivered as structured per-peril indices within the BLES output.

02
Occupancy Behavior Assessment

Behavioral read on occupancy patterns, maintenance consistency, and property engagement. Identifies lifestyle signals predictive of loss frequency and severity that COPE data and inspection reports cannot surface before a claim occurs.

03
Renewal Risk Intelligence

Behavioral trajectory monitoring for renewal underwriting decisions. Identifies behavioral pattern shifts between original underwriting and renewal that predict changed loss probability — delivering the behavioral update the inspection schedule misses.

Compliance

What crosses the boundary — and what does not.

Carrier Submits
Name · Date of birth · Email · Phone. Four fields the carrier already holds at underwriting. Hashed before transmission. No additional data collection from the insured required.
Carrier Receives
A structured Per-Peril Score: per-peril behavioral indices, measured confidence, behavioral reason codes, and a full audit-grade provenance chain traceable to the BERS Codex.
Stays Inside
No raw behavioral data crosses the boundary. The carrier receives structured underwriting intelligence only — the decision-ready signal, not the behavioral record The Brain evaluated to produce it.
Adverse Action
BLES-specific adverse action reason codes delivered with every outcome. State insurance regulatory-compliant output structure. Full audit trail maintained for regulatory filing and examination.
Access is gated by permissible purpose
Permissible Purpose Standard.

All BLES access flows through the BERS Permissible Purpose Standard (BERS PPS). Carrier eligibility is assessed by the BERS clearing account. Qualified carriers receive an authorization code upon approval.
